Three fatalities. Five injuries. One massive recall for Fiat-Chrysler (FCA) vehicles. The automaker says it opened an investigation in April 2015 after 10 crashes were reported, and after months of research, engineers determined the occupant restraint control modules may short-circuit and prevent the frontal airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners and side air bags from deploying in a crash.

At the time the recall was announced, FCA didn't have a solution or a date when the it'd begin. There's a full list of the 1.9 million recalled vehicles on CarComplaints.com, and those looking for more info can call FCA at 800-853-1403. Give them recall number S61.
