The Viper has been recalled 12 times. The 2000 and 2003 model years have been involved in the most campaigns.
Recalls are free repairs, initiated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Dodge itself, for a widespread safety problem. They might be a pain, but a recalled problem is better than an ignored one.

If the passenger airbag deploys in any car it means you've had a bad day.
However, if you own a 2016 Viper, it's been a really bad day. The vehicles have defective welds on the passenger airbag chutes that can cause the airbag doors to detach when the airbags deploy.

Unfortunately, the door latches aren't quite as grabby.
"Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1,762 model year 2013-14 Dodge Viper SRT cars because the doors can fly open while driving."
